First TMI Yorkshire & Humber meeting
15th May 2018
The Yorkshire and Humber TMI meeting took place at Leeds Beckett University today (15th May). Attended by DMOs, local authorities and the Yorkshire Nature Triangle attendees included existing and prospective TMI Members. Topics for discussion included the challenges of public sector funding, the scope of a major events in the region, and the impact of Brexit. We enjoyed a very nice lunch and shared ideas, frustrations and opportunities.
We explored the opportunities that exist for the sector to work more closely with Leeds Beckett University, and we also considered the need for the wider tourism sector to also work more collaboratively.
Working with Visit Harrogate, we will now be developing a quarterly meeting to bring together tourism stakeholders from across the region, and each meeting will include the TMI on the agenda. This promises to be a really exciting opportunity for discussion, debate and sharing of best practice.
We're all looking forward to the next meeting in late September!
