Event - TMI Annual Convention 2019
We’re delighted to be heading to Chester for this year’s Annual Convention on 23-24 October, hosted by the University of Chester in their Queens Park campus and by Marketing Cheshire. Below is a short intro into Chester produced by Marketing Chester.
Wednesday 23 October will see a repeat of our highly-rated ‘Practitioner/Student Summit’ starting in mid-morning with a mix of student, practitioner and topical speakers and a chance for ‘speed dating’ sessions between all concerned. This will conclude in early afternoon followed by a choice of 4 study tours covering topics as diverse as Interpreting heritage for a younger generation, augmented reality, Pokemon Go, the luxury market and the changing shape of city centres. After a short break, activities will resume in the evening at Storyhouse, Chester’s unique combination of library, eating venue, theatre and cinema.
The main convention agenda will be on Thursday 24 October at the spacious and well equipped Queens Park Campus adjoining the River Dee. The day’s programme will include a mix of plenary speakers, break outs and panel discussions on topical issues (with tourism taxes being a likely subject, maybe alongside whatever is most relevant to whatever stage of Brexit we may be in by then.
One of the delights of Chester is that all locations are in easy walking distance of each other and the train station, with delightful walks over the cities bridges and past historic sites.
