Nell works as a freelance consultant and enjoys creating innovative marketing solutions to help businesses become more profitable and attract more customers.
She specialises in tourism marketing and development; recent projects have included event management, PR campaigns, researching new markets, industry training, sustainability and development and marketing of local food initiatives.

Experience and Expertise
Nell has over 15 years experience working in the tourism industry with both the public and the private sector.
One of her particular interests is in sustainable tourism eg walking and cycling routes from concept to publication, organisation of food and walking festivals. Whilst working for a local authority she was responsible for the production and implementation of their tourism strategy, was editor of an award winning guide, developed niche marketing campaigns which were used as examples of best practice by overseas delegations, developed new websites, crisis management, quantitative and qualitative research methods and statistical analysis.
She was responsible for the management and motivation of 18 staff including staff from two award winning tourist information centres
She managed a three year European funded project. Auditor's report stated that it "was a highly successful and extremely effective project that had been well managed which achieved outputs in excess of their targets." This project was used by the ETC as a case study in their "Managing Micros" guide
She has presented papers on sustainable tourism to national and European partnerships, lectured at Bristol University on rural tourism and was spokesperson for tourism in South Somerset to trade, members and media and is experienced in live radio and television interviews
She was responsible for the relocation of a TIC to a new Highways Agency owned site. She has extensive experience of managing and developing TICs and their staff, as well as research into the ways visitors access information and different models for TICs. She produced TIC good practice guidelines for the South West of England.
