TMI Member Co-opted to Gloucester Cricket Board

Congratulations to Kathryn Davis MTMI, Head of Tourism at VisitBristol, who has just been appointed for a 3 year term as one of four new Co-optee members of the Board a Gloucestershire Cricket. She will officially join the main Board at their 7 March meeting

Kathryn has spent almost all of her professional life working in tourism, hospitality and leisure, the last 18 years of which have been with Destination Bristol.  This has taken her from a Marketing Executive developing early versions of VisitBristol and digital communication to Head of Tourism, working on regional, national and international programmes across all areas of the visitor economy including overseeing both the visitor marketing and convention bureau delivery, along with the development of local industry engagement, research, product and partnership development.

This includes working on major projects such as the Cricket World Cup.  Kathryn is a member of the Tourism Management Institute and was instrumental in ensuring that last year’s TMI Annual Convention in Bristol was a success. She is a regular speaker at industry events.  In 2018, she was awarded the Outstanding Contribution to Tourism at the Bristol, Bath and Somerset Tourism awards.  She lives in Horfield with her family and is both a cricket and football fan, supporting Gloucestershire County Cricket Club and Bristol City Football Club.

Club Chairman, Roger Cooke, said: “The quality and depth of talent was extraordinarily high and all at the Club were truly humbled by the passion shown by all candidates.  All of the new Board Members bring significant skills to the Board on both an individual and collective basis and we look forward to their input in what is a hugely important time for the Club.  With a competitive young team, the drama of the Cricket World Cup in 2019 and the Club’s 150th anniversary in 2020 we have much to look forward to and the new Board Members will be key to our success.”
