Did you know 2015 is the European Year of Industrial & Technical Heritage? There are some fascinating anniversaries: 150 years since Louis Pasteur invented pasteurisation in 1865; the Forth Bridge opened to railway traffic in 1890; and Pyrex was patented in 1915.
