TMI November Zoom Discussion: Belfast’s Sustainability journey with Jac Callan,​​​​ Senior Manager of Sustainability and Impact at Visit Belfast

Over the last 3 years, Belfast has been working at pace to improve the sustainability of the destination, and now ranks 11th most sustainable destination in the Global Destination Sustainability Index, out of 100 destinations that took part in 2023. Hear more about the changes they implemented, the bumps in the road and the overall benefits they see from the work they have done to date.

Jac Callan works for Visit Belfast as Sustainability & Impact Manager. Working alongside Belfast City Council, tourism stakeholders, communities and other global networks she supports Belfast's journey towards becoming a leading sustainable tourism and events destination. Visit Belfast is committed to accelerating sustainable performance across the industry and championing best practice.

Alison Burgh, TMI Head of Sustainability, will provide an update on the work of the TMI Sustainable Working Group, destination certification and the Green Destinations Top 100 best practice stories competition for 2024.
